Spring is Just Around the Corner
At last, warmer weather has hit our part of the hemisphere. During these post winter months, gardeners like myself browse through countless of garden and flower catalogs. We dream of lush flowers and green grass. New ideas and new plants to grow. Like most gardeners, the expense tends to escalate with each dream. This year, I have decided to plant seeds indoors to get a head start and to cut down my garden expense. This blog will cover on how to start early and save money.
Materials needed:
Packets of seeds from your local garden center or hardware store
Jiffy pellets (preferred choice)
Paper and pen
1. Follow the Jiffy instructions that came with your product. I bought the 72 pellets size.
2. Water the pellets with 1 1/2 cups of water.
3. Plant 3 seeds per pellet.
4. Write down the plant name with the matching row.
5. Place in warm indirect sunlight. I have mine on top of our refrigerator to keep it warm but away from the sun.
I planted a variety of vegetables and flowers. Amazingly, I still need more Jiffy pellets. I have planted over 200 seeds for less than $12.00. What a bargain folks! I hope to see some germination and growth in the next coming weeks. I will keep you posted with images. Enjoy your gardening indoors.
