Chicken Curry with Potatoes

I'm always in the search for an easy week night meal. This spicy chicken curry recipe is a breeze during busy school week. You can also make it during the weekend store and freeze it for the week. The recipe also allows you to add your own favorite vegetable like bell peppers or potatoes. Try something new. Try this chicken curry recipe. Please check out my YouTube video demo:

Neutrogena Original Wave Power Cleanser

My next search was to find an affordable version of Clarisonic. I was strolling around the Ulta Store with my $3.50 coupon and happen to run across the Neutrogena Original Wave Power Cleanser. It also has the Allure seal of approval. Wow! I grabbed it right away. I tried it that night and it really works. I can't compare it with anything else since this is my first power cleanser. So, far my nose and chin has been super smooth. My only con is that it does not have an on/off switch and  only 1 speed. Well, it works for me. It's also water proof so you can keep it in your shower. Check out my YouTube video:

Hand Creams

I've been in search for the best hand and foot cream. Last year, I suffered really bad cracks and dry skin from gardening. This year, after careful research, I've discovered O'Keeffe's Hand and foot cream. It works wonders especially from our massive garden overhaul and making a brick patio. No longer do I suffer the chap thumbs or crack feet. Check out my YouTube video on my review:

Origami

Here's a cute project kids can do at home. Origami allows children to use their creative side, practice hand dexterity and the ability to follow complex instructions. View the origami projects my nephew made using the ancient art of  Japanese  paper folding:

Gardening & Pizza

I'm hoping for warmer weather this weekend. If you haven't seen my recent image, my seedlings are ready to be transferred to a garden pot.

Lately, I have been posting information videos on hair care. Today, I'll be doing a video on making your own pizza dough at home. People always marvel that I make my own dough. In fact, it's a very easy recipe needing just a few ingredients in your own kitchen. However, finding THE RECIPE was a year long search. It's important to get the right proportions and other techniques that I'll be sharing on my youtube video. One big tip is making sure your oven has been heated for at least 45 minutes to an hour. If you're concerned about the rising cost of electricity and gas than 30 minutes minimum. The high heat will activate your yeast to poof and cause a tender and chewy crust that isn't soggy. I'll be posting my video soon. I hope you enjoy it and make you want to fix your own pizza today.

Happy Weekend!

More Plant Growth

I am really excited to see even more growth and germination. I have posted some new pics.

This afternoon, I went to our nearby Rural King and purchased more seeds and onions sets. No doubt, Rural King has the cheapest seeds around. I bought packets  for only 20 cents. Wow! Their onion sets were 89 - 99 cents a pound. Onions and garlic are natural organic insecticides for your flowers and plants. Insects and pests hate the smell they emit and keep their distance.

This is the best time to test your soil for its ph balance. Depending on the plants your growing, your ph can be adjusted. Check your local soil tester or garden center in your area for the cost. Our nearby lab runs around $25.00. To test several areas of your garden, it is recommended that you gather test samples from every area. This should give you a general idea. The results will enable you to make the adjustments for optimal growth. On my next blog, I will share how to amend your soil.
Enjoy the weekend! Thanks for reading.

Seeds Germinating

Hi Readers,

I am happy to show you the seedlings planted just a few days ago. How exciting! The sunflowers and basil came out first. Next step, will be to prop the dome of my Jiffy greenhouse. When all the seeds have sprouted, remove the dome and place it on a sunny window. The weak seedlings will be cut back. Come spring, place the greenhouse in a shady area for several days. Bring it indoors at night. Gradually acclimate them to the sun. Transplant the seedlings by April 4 in zone5.

Hope your indoor garden is going nicely. Post me your pics and ideas.

Planting Indoors

Spring is Just Around the Corner

At last, warmer weather has hit our part of the hemisphere. During these post winter months, gardeners like myself browse through countless of garden and flower catalogs. We dream of lush flowers and green grass. New ideas and new plants to grow. Like most gardeners, the expense tends to escalate with each dream. This year, I have decided to plant seeds indoors to get a head start and to cut down my garden expense. This blog will cover on how to start early and save money.

Materials needed:

Packets of seeds from your local garden center or hardware store
Jiffy pellets (preferred choice)
Paper and pen

1.  Follow the Jiffy instructions that came with your product. I bought the 72 pellets size.
2. Water the pellets with 1 1/2 cups of water.
3. Plant 3 seeds per pellet.
4. Write down the plant name with the matching row.
 5. Place in warm indirect sunlight. I have mine on top of our refrigerator to keep it warm but away from the sun.

I planted a variety of vegetables and flowers. Amazingly,  I still need more Jiffy pellets. I have planted over 200 seeds for less than $12.00. What a bargain folks! I hope to see some germination and growth in the next coming weeks. I will keep you posted with images. Enjoy your gardening indoors.
